Personal Yoga

The Embodied Leadership Experience

You’re holding so much.

Leadership. Family. Uncertainty. Responsibility.

You know how to show up for others.
You’ve learned how to push through.
You’re strong, capable — and often disconnected.

Somewhere along the way, your awareness scattered.
The body became tight. The mind loud. The breath shallow.
And you forgot how to listen to yourself.

What if you didn’t have to hold it all alone?
What if your body, mind, and breath could become allies — not sources of strain, but sources of wisdom?

This is where personal yoga begins.

Not as performance. Not as punishment.
But as a practice — of returning to yourself.
Of becoming more present to the life you’re living.
Of remembering how it feels to be whole.

The Embodied Leadership Experience

Introducing…

A personal yoga space for self-awareness — not self-improvement.

A place to simply be.

This practice is not about achieving a goal or fitting into a mold.
It’s about teaching yourself to observe, accept, and release — over and over again.

There’s no pressure to "do" more.
There’s only the invitation to feel, breathe, and be present with exactly what is.

Grounded in the T. Krishnamacharya’s Viniyoga tradition, personal yoga with me is:

  • Breath-led: Every movement flows from your breath, creating a natural rhythm

  • Restorative: Adapted to your body’s unique needs, energy, and experiences

  • Personal: Custom-tailored to support you through your current season of life

It’s a steady return to yourself. A place to simply be with whatever is arising in body, mind, or breath.

  • Nisha Kunder Yoga

I had done some Yoga before, but never like this.

“When you need something, the Universe is going to put it on your path.” Nisha said once to me. But most important, she proved it to me in more than one way.

One year ago I moved to a new country. I was handling conflicts in my life with previous colleagues and with myself for having failed an important step in my career. Not only was I a stranger, but I also felt lost. That’s when the Universe sent me Nisha.

She guided me through a beginner series of Yoga. At first, I wanted to do this to build a new routine and feel less guilty for walking less since I started working from home. Like many, I thought it would be a sports activity, to keep in shape for the summer. From the first session, I realized that it was so much more.

I had done some Yoga before, but never like this. Nisha was there to help, not only by correcting my poses and advising me on what was best for my body, but also by showing me how to “listen” to my body, be in the moment, be present. Her presence was reassuring, and I felt that even in that first Yoga session, I could be completely open and had no fear to be myself.

During the rest of the course, Nisha introduced me to multiple techniques, from breathing practices over to journalling my yoga sessions to chanting. And she did it by using my language. I am a scientist, and she used a language and explanations that resonated with me. I now take conscious breathing breaks multiple times throughout my day, that allows me to be present, to focus and to handle anxieties and conflicts. I chant every day, after my Yoga session: I love how I can generate sounds that put me at ease, relax me or energize me. I cherish this me-time as the most important thing in my day. I look forward to it, especially when I am busy or stressed.

    Who am I today?

With small changes, you do not notice them immediately. But they add up. I am a different person than I was one year ago. I walk and sit more comfortably, I am more confident in saying no and reserving time for myself and my needs, I do not fail anymore because in every insuccess I have the strength and the tools to make a lesson out of it.

As a result, I am more productive, I feel accomplished and I am healthier physically and mentally. I had no idea that Yoga could do this for me, but I guess it’s thanks to the way Nisha introduced to me, making it natural, interesting, and so pleasant to do it!

The Universe was very generous to me. I needed a new routine, and it gave me a great Yoga teacher that prepared a practice to resolve my day around. I needed a way to handle conflicts and failures, and it put on my path a fantastic person that gave me the tools to be present and always find the bright side of life. I needed a friend in a place in time and space where I felt lost, and it introduced me to Nisha.”

“When someone is seeking, it happens quite easily that he only sees the thing that he is seeking; that he is unable to find anything, unable to absorb anything, because he is only thinking of the thing he is seeking, because he has a goal, because he is obsessed with his goal. Seeking means: to have a goal; but finding means: to be free, to be receptive, to have no goal...

For in striving towards your goal, you do not see many things that are under your nose.”

  • I feel a sense of calm and clarity that is refreshing and grounding

“As life stress ramped up to an unsustainable level, due to balancing kids, schedules and increasing work responsibilities, my neck and upper back were in bad shape and I felt a baseline degree of anxiety and tension that rarely disappeared. My body and mind felt in a constant state of reaction, which impacted my relationship with my kids and partner. Nisha worked with me to develop a yoga and breathing practice that finally helped me to relax, strengthen weak areas of my body, and lift the fog inside my brain. She also helped me to tailor the practice to my schedule. Whether I do the full sequence of poses and breathwork or shorten it on a busy day to 15-20 minutes, I feel a sense of calm and clarity that is refreshing and grounding. The one-on-one nature of the class allowed everything to be tailored to my specific needs, and the atmosphere Nisha created was warm and inviting. My pain level has dramatically decreased, and I feel like I have a new set of tools to help me physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

The work Nisha does is inherently empathetic, and she brings to it a wonderful balance of compassion and patience mixed with a practical understanding of the realities of busy life.”

  • I feel more centered mentally

I love working with Nisha, she listens to what is going on with me and tailors the practice to my needs. My back is getting stronger and more balanced, which has lessened my back pain. I feel more centered mentally as well, yoga has deepened my meditation and chant practices.

  • I feel refreshed and empowered when I leave her studio

“When I entered Nisha studio space, what I found most evident is the deep care she has taken to create a place to center yourself. From the cups, she offers tea in, to the low lighting, and the multiple pillows, blankets and mats, she creates a place of serenity. She is extensively knowledgeable about her teachings and helps (myself) the student understand in a simple, open way as she guides you through practice. I feel grateful to have moved out of my comfort zone to try chanting, meditation, and individual yoga classes. I feel refreshed and empowered when I leave her studio.”

  • Feeling Guided, Supported, and Calm — Even in an Online Class

During the class, I loved that Nisha was not calling people by name to correct them. Yet, I felt like she was talking to me directly and helping me without making me feel uncomfortable. I felt safe and cared for, even in an online group class format!

I personally loved Nisha’s teaching style. She is very caring, relaxed, confident, and knowledgeable. I loved her communication style, which relied on listening to her students and adjusting the lessons to help the student. I also love how she simplified a non-tangible topic like mindfulness and helped me experience its calming effect during the class and every time I practiced using the class recordings.

A note from Nisha…

I grew up practicing yoga with my mom in India. I wish I could say it was a profound experience that had me rushing to the mat. Nope! I practiced for the prizes — sometimes chocolate, sometimes extra TV time.

My favorite āsana back then? śavāsana — lying down like a corpse, doing nothing… or so I thought :)

What I didn’t know then was that my mom had planted a seed of mindfulness in me — a seed that would quietly grow and support me for years to come.

I returned to yoga when I moved to NYC in 2006, searching for a sense of home. Since then, it’s been my constant: a safe, grounding space in a busy, ever-changing life.

After leaving my corporate career in tech, I formally studied yoga (RYT-500) to explore how deeply our mindset shapes our body, energy, and emotions. And the truth is: the more I learn, the more I realize how much there still is to learn. I know now I’ll be a student for life.

There was a time when my body allowed only ten minutes of practice a day. Even then, yoga gave me relief — not just from pain, but from the suffering and self-judgment that came with it.

That’s the power of a personal practice: it meets you where you are, flows with your breath, and gently brings you back to the present moment. And it’s in that presence where real healing begins.

More than ever, having a personal practice is essential in a world that pulls us in a thousand directions, leaving our body tight, our mind loud, and our breath shallow.

If you’re ready to create a yoga practice that’s personal, portable, and powerful — a practice you can carry anywhere, anytime — I’d be honored to guide you.

“I feel a sense of calm and clarity that is refreshing and grounding.”

  • Chanting helps me feel more grounded.

Before joining Nisha’s class, my biggest challenge was staying calm in the face of chaos (hello, parenting!). I rarely had quiet time for myself, and I often felt guilty for yelling at my kids — especially my older one. I didn’t expect perfection, but I wanted to model calmness more often than not.

Chanting gave me something just for myself — and surprisingly, something I could also share with my older child, who loved hearing some of the chants. Now, when I feel stressed or frustrated, I break away and start chanting, either out loud or in my head. It helps me reset and respond better instead of just reacting. Sometimes the chants even come to me throughout the day, keeping me grounded and quieting the noise in my mind.

Nisha made the tradition so approachable. I loved the way she explained the background, symbols, and pronunciation with so much passion. She really brought it to life.

If you’re on the fence, give it a shot — you have nothing to lose. Chanting is another tool to calm and center your nervous system, and I love how connected it made me feel to something ancient and shared.
